Is God willing to prevent evil but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then his is malevolent. Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God.

Some people believe that evil is the absence of God, just as darkness is the absence of light.
God chose to give us free will instead of "dictation" because only with free will can our love for him be true.

Um, what "free will" has to do with God not being able to prevent evil? He's omnipotent; he could get rid of evil without us noticing it. But yet, countless of innocents are starving in this world, most of them children, wow, what an asshole.

God never gave us "free will" and he never had a "special plan" for every one of us. He simply has absolutely no control over us, and he's also totally absent minded for the simple reason that he's made of invisible, imaginary and nonexistent.
